Bradley Kovach O.D. has been an Associate Eye Doctor with Ali & Patel, Doctors of Optometry since 2021. Beginning in mid-2026, he will be assuming the lease of the San Luis Obispo Costco optometry practice under the name Kovach Coastal Optometry. Dr. Kovach grew up in Gilroy, CA, and developed a passion for eye care at an early age while watching his dad, a local optometrist, care for and connect with his community. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology at California State

University, Monterey Bay, and went on to study at Southern California College of Optometry. With SCCO, Dr. Kovach served as the president of the Private Practice Club, won the VSP Practice Excellence Scholarship, and graduated Summa Cum Laude.

Upon graduation, Dr. Kovach relocated to San Luis Obispo, where he has practiced with Dr. Syed Ali, O.D. and Dr. Urvi Patel, O.D.  in the San Luis Obispo and Santa Maria Costco practices. While working with Ali O.D. & Patel O.D., Dr. Kovach has specialized in primary care, medical eye care, and myopia management. Dr. Kovach and his wife Maggie have fallen in love with the Central Coast, involving themselves heavily with local events and community-focused organizations.

Dr. Kovach’s goal is to build upon Ali O.D & Patel O.D.’s 20+ years of reliable optometric patient care and high-quality staff service. Kovach Coastal Optometry will continue to meet the community’s comprehensive eye care needs from routine vision exams to complete medical eye care.
